Divine Paradox
Two thousand years of words divine,
Of peace, of love, a holy line.Temples rose, prayers filled the air,
Yet war and greed still linger there.
“Man is flawed,” the faithful say,
As if their saints could clear the way.
Sermons echo, candles burn,
While empires crash and lessons spurn.
Blessed texts of mercy, read aloud,
Yet hate and fear still shroud the crowd.
Heavenly promises, untouched, unseen,
While earth below grows worse between.
They teach forgiveness, turn the cheek,
Yet temples guard what humans seek.
If gods exist, or angels hear,
They watch us falter year by year.
Perhaps it’s faith that misleads,
The myths, the miracles, the creeds.
For all the prayers, all sacred rites,
The world persists in endless fights.
Awake, dear hearts, let reason guide,
See the world as it is, no myths to hide.
