2. B.E.E in South Africa: Merit lost

They call it equity, a chance to mend,

Yet lines are drawn where they shouldn’t bend.

Born of color, not of skill or fight,

It judges skin, not what is right.

Opportunities tied to a shade,

Ignoring merit, the choices made.

In the name of justice, it sows divide,

While true fairness is cast aside.

Is progress real, or just a guise?

When talent loses to pigment’s ties.

South Africa, hear the call:

Lift all, don’t judge one by the wall.

Shall we not rise in unity, standing tall?
