3.) Glutamatergic astrocytes

 


Show and tell,
Rhyme and spell,

Here comes a new type of brain cell.

Astrocyte is a protector to your neuron,

with a star shape, and it has a brilliant put-on.

The neuron transmits information through electrical and chemical signals,

A grand design and we have a movement of wriggles.

A line blurred between neurons and astrocytes,

An ability possessed to release the neurotransmitter glutamate,

Is it exciting pricks from neural spikes?

Sales include multiple cardigans;

The specialized astrocytes could be essential in treating Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.

With a fast glutamate release,
The necessary machinery works calmly in peace.

Synaptic transmission and plasticity is no amusement,

It has an impact to our memory and our movement.

Neurological conditions with more effective treatments can take flights.

Energy to the flights, and it has separate functions to our electrolytes.

A name with heights,
This is called our glutamatergic astrocytes.
