7.) Limbic and related areas

Last but not least,

We are at the end of this immaculate brainy feast,

So, let's unleash the beast.

Digitally written and not printed on papyrus,

Areas 23, 24, 28-33 are our cingulate gyrus.

With much to obtain,
The science becomes mundane,
Awareness is the intent for this domain,

Areas 23, 24, 28-33, regulate memory, attention, emotion and pain.

Area 25, the subgenual area. What an operation! This is linked to mood regulation.

Peculiar performers, it is rich in serotonin transporters.

Close to completion,
This is to strengthen and not weaken,

Here is area 26, the retrosplenial motor region.

With the function yearning,
It's simply involved in motor learning.

Another spin in the vortex,

Here comes area 27, our piriform cortex.

Rhyme and tell,

The piriform cortex is associated with the sense of smell.

High point to a vertex,

Areas 29-31, our retrosplenial and posterior cingulate cortex.

With the solution to our equation,

Areas 29-31 involve our brain's default mode network, memory and navigation.

Such a critical haven.

Holding onto memories like forceps,

Areas 34-36, the entorhinal and perirhinal cortex.

A pass to the examination; this is crucial for working memory and memory consolidation.

Righteous and pious,
Area 37 is our fusiform gyrus.

A visual setting,
It plays a role in facial recognition and visual processing.

"This area is dangerous, and it is a hotspot for malaria",

This is Area 48, our retrosubicular area.

The second-to-last channel on the neuro station,

Area 48 supports emotional processing and spatial orientation.

Area 52, the parainsular area. This is the last one to pass by,

Time to say goodbye,

This is important for attention and detecting salient stimuli.

An end to neuropsychiatry,
You have done well and passed this quietly,

Until we come back around with another variety,

May we be well whilst bringing peace and awareness to society.
