4. Deep Sleep Therapy (Psych)
Pills and barbiturates draw the mind,
into the velvet night, unconscious, confined.
Days dissolve while patients sleep,
a coma induced, the silence deep.
Hospital wings, in calm disguise,
therapists watched with measured eyes.
Severe depression, psychosis, anguish,
treatments given with structured plan and language.
By modern times, the method ceased,
replaced with safer paths, the risks decreased.
Yet history whispers, warnings keep,
lessons buried where memories sleep.
Slumber stretches, senses slip,
dreams drift deep and fingers flip,
Can prolonged sleep ever mend the trip?
