Faces known, yet seem astray,

Familiar ones feel far away.

Neural links betray the mind,
Recognition lost, yet sight aligned.

The fusiform sees what eyes have known,
Yet limbic fires deny it’s shown.

Frontal checks fail, doubts intertwine,
Familiar faces feel not mine.
