Neuroscience

Beneath the cranium, gray matter thrives,

cortical columns where activity drives.

Neurons depolarize, action potentials fire,

glutamate and GABA maintain the balance entire.

Axons propagate signals along myelinated tracks,

synaptic clefts transmit via chemical acts.

Dopaminergic pathways modulate reward and drive,

serotonergic circuits help mood survive.

Hippocampus consolidates memory’s trace,

amygdala signals threat, fear to face.

Prefrontal cortex orchestrates decision and plan,

executive control guiding the cognitive span.

Neuroplasticity reshapes both dendrite and spine,

long-term potentiation strengthens the line.

Trauma, learning, experience intertwine,

reconfiguring circuits in patterns fine.

A connectome intricate, both vast and deep,

networks awake while the body sleeps.

Through neuromodulation, therapy, and care,

synaptic potential adapts here and there.

And with each connection, precise and bright,

the brain’s vast circuits ignite with light.
