Zoos Should Not Exist
Behind cold bars they roam, yet never free,
Their cries unheard, lost in captivity.
Instincts fade, their hearts begin to die,
In tiny cages, they can only sigh.
Health declines where space is stripped away,
Forced to perform, with no right to stray.
Breeding for show, some are then tossed aside,
Their lives are ours to waste, though they should not hide.
We teach our children that this is okay,
Yet wild hearts belong where they can play.
Zoos steal freedom, crush what should soar,
Let animals live wild, not behind a door.
And tell me, sweet world, is this love, or just a chore?
